With a surface area of 5000 m2, some 4000 m3 of sand, dozens of lock gates, 1000 year old olive trees, botters and sculptures, this exhibition is one of the world's largest indoor sand sculpture exhibitions. Sand Stories is an exhibition like no other. No screens, no digital gadgets, but an honest experience full of real and natural material: 4000 m3 of sculpted sand, discarded lock gates, wood, bones and botters. Zandverhalen presents the Bible stories - mixed with current events - in such a way that old stories come alive again. Both for visitors who grew up with these stories and for those who do not know them yet. The hall where the Zandverhalen can be seen is a stage, a sanctuary, where the old stories can be told and experienced without religious claims.

Christmas 

At Zandverhalen you can celebrate Christmas again this year. Zandverhalen is open every Christmas day and offers a nice Christmas program to visitors, with a Christmas exhibition and live music (on Christmas days). The theme is a new version of the 3 Wise Men, who encounter the baby Jesus in different ways on a journey through the Sand Stories.
