Lozer Castle
The castle estate with outbuildings is situated in an extensive landscaped park with ponds. The old castle site was mentioned as early as 1080 and came into the possession of Philip of Montmorency in the 16th century; in the seventeenth century, the estate was called t Goed Uplosere. In 1654, Grand Bailiff of Ghent Jean-Baptiste della Faille acquired the castle. His family still owns the castle and operates a guesthouse in the outbuildings.
The castle was modified for the last time after 1914 to its current Neo-Louis XVI appearance. The current 13-hectare wooded castle park was laid out in 1885 by landscape architect Friedrich Eduard Keilig.
